Connect a server provider

To let FlashPanel create servers directly in your provider account, get an API Key from the provider and add it on the Connect VPS Provider page. After that, you can create a server through the provider's API.

TIP

If your server provider restricts which IP addresses can use its API, add the FlashPanel IP address to the allowlist: 91.98.134.129

Vultr

1. Visit the Vultr API page.
2. In the Personal Access Token section, click Enable API if this is your first time, then copy the API Key.
3. Return to the Connect VPS Provider page in FlashPanel.
4. Click the Add Credential button.
5. Select the Vultr server provider.
6. Enter a note for this API Key in the Api Key Memo field.
7. Paste the API Key from step 2 into the API Key field.
8. Click Add Credential to save.

Digital Ocean

1. Visit the Digital Ocean API page.
2. In the Personal Access Tokens section, click Generate New Token.
3. Copy the API Token.
4. Return to the Connect VPS Provider page in FlashPanel.
5. Click the Add Credential button.
6. Select the Digital Ocean server provider.
7. Enter a note for this API Token in the Api Key Memo field.
8. Paste the API Token from step 3 into the API Key field.
9. Click Add Credential to save.

Linode

1. Visit the Linode API page.
2. In the Personal Access Tokens section, click Create A Personal Access Token.
3. Enter a Label for the API Token. In the access table, select the Read/Write column on the Linodes row and keep None for all other rows, then click the Create Token button.
4. Copy the API Token.
5. Return to the Connect VPS Provider page in FlashPanel.
6. Click the Add Credential button.
7. Select the Linode server provider.
8. Enter a note for this API Token in the Api Key Memo field.
9. Paste the API Token from step 4 into the API Key field.
10. Click Add Credential to save.

UpCloud

1. Visit the UpCloud API page.
2. In the Account section, click Create subaccount.
3. Enter the subaccount details (username and password) and click Create subaccount.
4. After the subaccount is created, click its edit button to open the edit page, scroll down to the Permissions section, and click Go to permissions. Set the permissions as follows and disable all the others:
   • Control Panel: turn off Allow access to Control Panel (the subaccount does not need to log in to the UpCloud interface).
   • API connections: turn on Allow API connections. To restrict IP addresses, click Add IPs and add the FlashPanel IP address.
   • Servers: turn on All servers.
5. Return to the Connect VPS Provider page in FlashPanel.
6. Click the Add Credential button.
7. Select the UpCloud server provider.
8. Enter a note for this credential in the Api Key Memo field.
9. Enter the username and password of the subaccount created in step 3 into the Username and Password fields.
10. Click Add Credential to save.

Hetzner

1. Go to Hetzner > select a project > in the left sidebar select Security > in the top tabs select API Tokens.
2. Click Generate API Token in the upper right corner.
3. Enter a description and select Read & Write under Permissions.
4. After the token is created, click Copy to copy the Token.
5. Return to the Connect VPS Provider page in FlashPanel.
6. Click the Add Credential button.
7. Select the Hetzner server provider.
8. Enter a note for this API Token in the Api Key Memo field.
9. Paste the API Token from step 4 into the API Key field.
10. Click Add Credential to save.

AWS Lightsail

1. Sign in to the AWS Management Console.
2. Go to the IAM service.
3. In the left navigation pane, select Users and then click Create user.
4. Enter a user name (for example, "flashpanel-access") and click Next.
5. Select Attach policies directly, then search for and select the AmazonLightsailFullAccess policy.
6. Click Next and then Create user.
7. After the user is created, click the user name to view its details.
8. Go to the Security credentials tab and click Create access key.
9. Select Third-party service as the use case and click Next.
10. Enter a description tag (optional) and click Create access key.
11. Copy both the Access key and the Secret access key (this is your only chance to view the Secret access key).
12. Return to the Connect VPS Provider page in FlashPanel.
13. Click the Add Credential button.
14. Select the AWS Lightsail server provider.
15. Enter a note for this credential in the Api Key Memo field.
16. Paste the Access key into the API Key field and the Secret access key into the API Secret field (both from step 11).
17. Click Add Credential to save.

CloudFly

1. Go to the CloudFly login page.
2. After logging in, click your avatar in the top right corner to open your user profile (or use this direct link: User Profile).
3. Click the API tab (this takes you to the Access API page).
4. Click the Enable API button.
5. After enabling, the API Key appears. Copy it.
6. Return to the Connect VPS Provider page in FlashPanel.
7. Click the Add Credential button.
8. Select the CloudFly server provider.
9. Enter a note for this API Key in the Api Key Memo field.
10. Paste the API Key from step 5 into the API Key field.
11. Click Add Credential to save.

Onidel

1. Log in to your Onidel Cloud account.
2. Open the Account Settings page.
3. Create an API Key (if you do not have one yet) and copy it.
4. Return to the Connect VPS Provider page in FlashPanel.
5. Click the Add Credential button.
6. Select the Onidel server provider.
7. Enter a note for this API Key in the Api Key Memo field.
8. Paste the API Key from step 3 into the API Key field.
9. Click Add Credential to save.

Manage credentials

The Connect VPS Provider page lists the credentials you have added, with their provider and an In Use? column that shows whether any server is using the key.

• Click the edit icon to change the note or enter a new API Key. Leave the API Key field empty to keep the current key.
• Click the delete icon to delete a credential you no longer use.

WARNING

Avoid deleting a credential that is in use. FlashPanel needs it to manage the server in your provider account (for example, to restart or reinstall the server).
