What is Nginx?

Nginx is a very popular, open source web server software that is widely used around the world. Initially, Nginx was developed by Igor Sysoev to solve the C10k problem, which is handling 10,000 concurrent connections on a single server. However, over time, Nginx has become a powerful and versatile server software with many different features.

Key features of Nginx

1. HTTP Server:

   • Nginx is capable of serving static websites very quickly and efficiently.
   • Supports modern HTTP methods such as HTTP/2, HTTPS, and SSL/TLS.

2. Reverse Proxy:

Redirect https www to non-www

In the system, using FlashPanel by default redirects http://www.domain.com to https://domain.com.

However, https://www.domain.com will not redirect to https://domain.com because in highly restrictive browsers like Safari or on mobile, accessing https:// www.domain.com will fail.

To redirect https www to non-www, do the following

1. Inside the website domain.com you will see the section www Enable

2. Click the Enable button and you're done.

Use another PHP version in the subfolder

Suppose the website you are running has a subfolder running another source code. You want to run it with a different PHP version than the one you are selecting for the website.

On the nginx tab click on the Add Custom Config button

  Note 1: Change subfolder to correspond to your current subfolder.

  Note 2: in php8.1-fpm-www.sock, change 8.1 to the corresponding php version you want, www corresponds to flashvps linux user, please change it to the current linux user that the website is running Set it if it is not flashvps linux user.
