Resource Protection
The Resource Protection feature acts as a safety lock for your servers and websites. It prevents accidental deletion of important resources, giving you peace of mind when managing your infrastructure.
Think of it like putting a "Do Not Disturb" sign on your most important servers and websites. When protection is enabled, no one can accidentally delete these resources.
What Can You Do With Resource Protection?
- Prevent Accidental Deletion: Keep important servers and websites from being deleted by mistake
- Protect Critical Resources: Safeguard your most valuable infrastructure from unintended changes
- Easy Toggle: Quickly enable or disable protection with a single click
- Clear Status Indicators: Easily see which resources are protected at a glance
How Resource Protection Works
When you enable protection on a server or website:
- The resource gets a special "protected" status
- Anyone trying to delete the resource will be blocked
- A warning message will appear explaining that the resource is protected
- To delete the resource, you must first disable protection
WARNING
Note: Protection only prevents deletion. You can still make all other changes to your protected resources, including configuration changes, updates, and restarts.

- Use Descriptive Names: Give your resources clear names so you can easily identify which ones are important to protect
- Regular Review: Periodically review which resources are protected to ensure they still need protection
Common Questions
What happens when I enable protection?
When you enable protection, your server or website cannot be deleted until you disable protection first. This helps prevent accidental loss of important resources. All other operations like configuration changes, updates, and restarts will continue to work normally.
Can I still make changes to a protected resource?
Yes! Protection only prevents deletion. You can still make all other changes to your protected resources, including configuration changes, updates, and restarts.
How do I know if a resource is protected?
Protected resources show a green lock icon next to their name in your resource list. Unprotected resources show a gray lock icon. You can also check the protection status by clicking on the lock icon to open the protection panel.
What if I forget to disable protection before deleting?
Don't worry! The system will remind you that the resource is protected and prevent the deletion. Simply go to the resource's protection settings and disable protection first.
Is there a limit to how many resources I can protect?
No, you can protect as many resources as you like. However, we recommend only protecting resources that truly need this extra layer of safety.
Best Practices
- Enable protection on production servers and websites that are critical to your business
- Disable protection only when you're certain you want to delete a resource
- Regularly review your protected resources to ensure they still need protection
- Use protection as an additional safety measure, not as a substitute for proper backup procedures
