phpMyAdmin
phpMyAdmin is a free tool for administering MySQL and MariaDB from your browser: manage databases, tables and users, import/export data and run SQL statements. In FlashPanel, phpMyAdmin is installed as a standalone website.
Requirements
- The server has PHP and MySQL (or MariaDB) installed. If one is missing, the install dialog shows the required application with a link to the Apps page.
- A new website dedicated to phpMyAdmin (for example
pma.domain.com). The website's existing source code will be removed.
The phpMyAdmin version is chosen automatically based on the website's PHP version.
Installation
- Create a new website, then click the website name in the list to open its management page.
- Click the Install Source Code menu, then click the phpMyAdmin icon.
- Read the warning, check Yes, Do it!, then click Install phpMyAdmin.
Installation takes about 1-2 minutes. FlashPanel automatically creates a dedicated database and database user where phpMyAdmin stores its configuration; you do not need to create them beforehand.
TIP
Install SSL on the website so database passwords are encrypted when you log in.
Usage
Log in
Open the phpMyAdmin website and log in with any MySQL/MariaDB user on the server:
- Default user
flashpanel: the password was emailed to you when the server finished installing. - Other users: create them or change their password on the MySQL (or MariaDB) page in the server menu. See Database.
Auto login
Once the server has a phpMyAdmin website, you can open phpMyAdmin without entering a password:
- The server's MySQL/MariaDB page: the Auto Login button next to the Database Users title (logs in as the default user) and on each user row.
- The Home page of any website linked to a database user: the Auto Login button in the website information card, which logs in as that website's user.
Upgrade
When a new version is available, the Action table at the top of the website's Home page shows an upgrade button (note Upgrade phpmyadmin to the latest stable version). Click it to upgrade.
Uninstall
- Click the website's Home menu.
- In the Danger Zone group, click Remove Code.
- Check Delete Database and Delete Database User if you also want to delete phpMyAdmin's configuration database.
- Check Restore default page? to delete the phpMyAdmin files and return the website to the default page.
- Check Yes, Do it!, then click Remove Code.
Notes
- The phpMyAdmin website directory is locked against modification to protect phpMyAdmin. Do not upload other files to this website.
- When importing large SQL files, increase these settings in the server's PHP menu to avoid errors:
